Syrian refugees spend sombre Eid in camps

Muslim holiday passes rather unnoticed in Turkish tent camps housing tens of thousands of Syrians.

The Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday passed rather unremarkably in the Turkish refugee camps sheltering Syrians displaced by violence.

Many of the refugees, living in tents, still have families inside Syria that they worry about.

The UN says nearly 70,000 Syrians have fled to Turkey, where the government is worried the number will grow as fighting intensifies.

Al Jazeera’s Stefanie Dekker reports from the Yayladagi camp.
