Bangladesh hit hard by record floods

Aid distributed as thousands of victims slowly return back to their devastated villages.

Authorities and aid organisations have distributed essential supplies, including food, drinking water and medicine to thousands of flood victims who are slowly returning back to their devastated villages in northwestern Bangladesh.

Hundreds of people have died from drowning or water borne diseases and about 250,000 were displaced after flash flooding and landslides that were triggered by record-breaking heavy rain last week.

Nicolas Haque reports from the village of Khoyagari.
