The dying art of Pakistan’s gun makers

Power outages and corruption are killing off the country’s once trigger-friendly small arms manufacturers.

United Nations talks seeking to curb the global weapons market have been postponed until Tuesday over a dispute on the status of the Palestinian delegation.

World leaders are trying to hammer out the first ever binding treaty, and it is one that could affect Pakistan’s thriving arms trade.

The country’s small gun industry is already teetering on the brink of collapse because of frequent power outages, but the real challenge is how to modernise and retain this industry.
