Hundreds of Egyptian farmers from Fayoum have filed more than 10 law suites against the country’s former agriculture minister Youssef Wali and his family.
They are trying to win back land that they were evicted from in the 1990s. The Wali family claims that the farmers were compensated for their land. The farmers deny this claim.
