Zimbabwe’s struggling economy has caused severe hardship for many people, notably the growing ranks of impoverished elderly citizens.
While many no longer receive aid from the government as before, those who have sought refugee in old-age homes must rely on donations that come irregularly, if at all. Others are destitute because their children have left the country in search of work.
A bill to protect the elderly is yet to be passed by the parliament.
