Hundreds of Syrian nationals who have lived in Jordan for decades say they have been punished by their embassy for protesting against the government’s crackdown on dissent.
The expatriates say the Syrian embassy in Amman has refused to issue or renew their passports and other official documents. Some of them also allege that they received serious threats from the embassy for taking part in demonstrations in the country.
