US race tracks try to counter falling profits

Horse racing fans in the US were disappointed when hopes of the first Triple Crown winner in 34 years were dashed by the sudden retirement of “I’ll Have Another”, due to injury.
The excitement stirred by that colt has not changed the worrying prospects for the US horse racing business, however.
Race tracks are trying to overcome the odds by gambling on more ways to attract bettors.
