Mexican receives double-arm transplant

Gabriel Granados Vergara becomes first person in Latin America to have medical procedure.

A Mexican man has become the first person in Latin America to receive a double arm transplant.

Gabriel Granados Vergara had to have both his arms amputated after severe electrical burns.

The surgery was carried out last month, but the patient has only now been able to leave hospital.

As Al Jazeera’s Dominic Kane reports, doctors say the procedure was particularly challenging.
