Authorities in the eastern Indian state of Bihar have ordered an investigation into the killing of a senior political figure.
Brahm-eshwar Singh was the head of the Ranvir Sena, a militia which targeted Hindus from the lowest caste.
He is believed to have been involved in the killing of more than 300 people and while there might be some relief from lower castes, his demise has already triggered violence in volatile Bihar.
