North Carolina divided on Obama’s re-election

With less than six months until voters in the US head to the polls, the likely candidates in the 2012 presidential election are already focusing their campaigns on the so-called swing states necessary to secure victory.

This year, incumbent Barack Obama, and Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican candidate, will look to states like North Carolina to move one step closer to victory.

North Carolina, a state that voted in favour of Obama in the last presidential poll, now appears to be split over support for his re-election.
