Tourists shun restive Yemen
Uprising against government, rebellion in south and precarious security situation prompt sharp drop in visitors.

Before Yemen’s political and security situation began to worsen, tourism was a growing industry.
Visitors eager to learn about its history and culture came to the Middle Eastern country from around the world.
Today, however – after an uprising against the government last year and a continuing rebellion in the south – numbers are at an all-time low.
Al Jazeera’s Jane Ferguson reports from Sanaa, the Yemeni capital.
