South Dakota becomes US abortion battleground
Midwest state conceives many anti-abortion laws, placing it at centre of divisive issue.

The US state of South Dakota has one of the lowest abortion rates in America.
The rural state is also where many pieces of anti-abortion legislation are conceived, before some are adapted by other states.
Pro-choice activists see the state as a key testing ground for such laws, which puts South Dakota at the centre of some bitter fights on the abortion issue.
