With the swearing in of former Vice-President Joyce Banda on Saturday, Malawi has a new president.

She took over as leader after Bingu wa Mutharika’s death in office after a heart attack last week.

Malawians have high expectations of their new leader. She is under pressure to create jobs, attract foreign investment, and fix the country’s struggling economy.
