Doctors’ plea for Ukraine’s jailed Tymoshenko
German physicians say ex-prime minister, now on hunger strike, should be allowed medical care.

Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine’s jailed former prime minister, has been on a hunger strike since last week to protest against her alleged beating in prison.
A group of German doctors have appealed to the Ukrainian government to allow her to be treated for severe back pain overseas.
She was jailed last April in a case some Western governments considered to be politically motivated.
