US top court may back Arizona immigration law
Conservative elements of Supreme Court appear receptive to controversial law on illegal immigration.

Conservative justices who hold a majority on the US Supreme Court appeared ready to endorse a controversial law on immigration in the state of Arizona.
The new law would expand the powers of local police to arrest illegal immigrants in the state. The government is challenging the law, however, saying it encroaches on federal authority.
