Thousands gather to condemn band but most Russians do not want the group jailed for ‘attack’.
Thousands of Orthodox Christian worshippers have turned out in the Russian capital Moscow for a prayer to support the church in what it perceives to be an attack on its authority.
They refer to a confrontation involving Pussy Riot, a local punk rock band who took over the capital’s main cathedral to sing their songs in a political statement in February.
