Censors in China ramp up after scandal

China, with more internet users than any other nation, has taken action to control online discussion about the scandal surrounding former politician Bo Xilai which has launched endless rumours on social media sites.

Even though China has put in place what is said to be the world’s most sophisticated censorship system to monitor its 500-million internet users, there are increasing worries in Beijing that the internet may someday undermine the government’s authority.
