The world’s attention has recently been focused on Homs and attempts to get Red Cross aid into Baba Amr – which has been bombarded by Syrian government forces for weeks.

But a far worse – and much wider – humanitarian crisis is taking place across the country.

Activists have reported shelling in more areas including Qusayr, Rastan, Idlib and Hama. And as the army continues its offensive, the potential grows for large numbers of people becoming displaced or having to flee as refugees from the violence around them.
