Growing popularity of Acai berry, a so-called superfood, is providing both jobs and ecological challenges in Amazon.

In the Brazilian Amazon, the Acai berry is creating a farming boom. Indigenous groups discovered the benefits of the Acai more than a century ago, and now it has taken off in the rest of the world.

However, the global phenomenon of the “superfood” is causing concern for the health of the rainforest.
