Protesters in Peru have marched hundreds of kilometres for nine days to reach Lima, the capital, to demand protection of their water sources.
They say a gold mining project is threatening to change the area’s ecosystem, which would affect the lives of thousands of people living in the highlands.
Al Jazeera’s Mariana Sanchez reports from Lima.
