Air pollution killing thousands in Kabul
About 3,000 people dying each year in Afghan capital, the same as the number of civilians killed in fighting.

Air pollution in Afghanistan’s capital is so bad that it is causing a host of health problems.
The Ministry of Health says about 3,000 people a year die because of poor air quality. That is the same as the number of civilians killed in fighting every year.
Al Jazeera’s Jennifer Glasse reports from Kabul.
