Kurdish refugees from Syria languish in Iraq
Thousands of Kurds who fled when Assad’s forces crushed uprising in Qamishli eight years ago, still live in camps.

While focus is on the uprising in Syria which started almost a year ago, Syrian Kurds revolted years before.
Riots in the mainly Kurdish city of Qamishli in 2004 were crushed by President Bashar al-Assad’s security forces. Rights groups say at least 30 people were killed in that crackdown.
Thousands of Kurds crossed the border into Iraq and have been living as refugees since.
Al Jazeera’s Jane Arraf reports from a refugee camp in Moqableh in northern Iraq.
