US students excel on tight budget

A group of high school students from New York have exceeded expectations by implementing breakthrough research on a small budget for the Siemens competition for science.
The development comes as the US continues to face budget problems, and federal cuts to education could amount to nearly $5bn, according to the American Association of School Administrators.
