Mexico launches trash-for-food plan
Country’s biggest city starts up initiative to recycle rubbish into vouchers for sustenance.

With more than 20 million inhabitants, the Mexico City metropolitan region generates an incredible amount of rubbish.
The government has launched a new programme to address this problem, where people can exchange recyclable goods for coupons to use at a nearby farmer’s market.
