Iraq sees worst flooding in years

The streets of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, has turned into rivers after three days of heavy rain.

Many parts of the capital are completely flooded, with poor infrastructure, such as lack of functional sewage lines, further exacerbating an already difficult situation.

Some residents have accused the government of inefficient response.

They also say widespread corruption and political infighting have prevented the implementation of new mega projects needed to rebuild the crippled infrastructure of the country.
