French poverty ‘inaction’ draws criticism

About 8 million people struggle to make ends meet, despite country being one of world’s wealthiest.

Queues of hungry people waiting for food handouts are more commonly associated with war-torn nations or those ravaged by natural disasters than they are with France, one of the world’s most wealthy countries.

But with 8 million people struggling to make ends meet, charities are criticising the French government for not helping those most in need.
