Fighting child trauma in Typhoon Bopha’s wake

As many as two million children in the southern Philippines may have been left traumatised by the effects of Typhoon Bopha, a UN agency has said.

Many of the young survivors have lost members of their family and now live in cramped, temporary accommodation after the storm destroyed thousands of homes.

Now aid organisaitions in the country have stepped in to help, bringing specialist psychologists to help children deal with their trauma and creating spaces for youngsters to play and express themselves through art.
