Argentina’s Clarin wins reprieve on media law

Court hands victory to country’s biggest media group, just hours before showdown over anti-monopoly law.

A court in Argentina has given one of the country’s biggest media companies some breathing room.

Clarin had faced a Friday deadline to sell off parts of its media empire under an anti-trust law.

But it says it is being targeted because of its critical stance towards President Cristina Kirchner.
