Nigeria’s daunting sanitation problems

Lack of clean water and public facilities causing spread of diseases and poverty in West African nation.

According to a new statistic from WaterAid, a nongovernmental organisation, more than 100 million people in Nigeria are directly bearing the brunt of a lack of sanitation.

Access to government-provided sanitation has dropped from 37 per cent in 1990 to 31 per cent today in the country causing the spread of diseases and poverty.
