Native Americans fight to preserve language

Siletz tribal members are using digital technology to give their ancient language a future.

The Siletz language, once spoken widely in the Pacific Northwest region of the US, is rebounding from the verge of extinction with the help of digital technology.

Siletz speakers have compiled an online dictionary and efforts are under way to tech the language to young tribal members.

Al Jazeera’s Rob Reynolds reports from Siletz, Oregon.
