Qatar climate talks under spotlight

Gulf state’s motive questioned as it remains one of the world’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases.

Qatar emits more carbon dioxide per person than any other country in the world – nearly 50 tons a year for each of its residents.

So the decision for it to host this year’s United Nations climate change conference has caused a stir.

The talks officially begin in Doha on Monday.
