Thailand’s Red Shirts weigh a comeback

Movement that helped current government into power says it may resort to drastic measures to restore democracy.

Less than two years after the party of Thailand’s prime minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, won office, its coalition is facing a vote of no confidence.

The party’s strongest support came from the Red Shirts, a movement that is threatening to go back to the streets, citing dissatisfation with the pace of democracy in the country.

From Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, Wayne Hay reports.
