Nepal launches campaign to end illiteracy

Government plans to improve education for more than four million citizens who cannot read or write.

Nepal will launch a campaign in December that aims to eradicate illiteracy within three years.

Despite decades of investment in education, almost four million people can still not read or write.

It is an ambitious goal for a country where more than 25 per cent of children do not go to school.
