Meeting in Nigeria, West African bloc discusses deployment of 3,300 troops to region controlled by rebels.
The West African bloc known as ECOWAS is finalising a plan to retake northern Mali from Tuareg and Ansar Eddin, Unity and Jihad rebels.
At a meeting in Nigeria, the group asked the United Nations to back its plan to deploy a 3,300-strong force to the region.
