Mixed views on new Church of England leader

Conflicting views about appointment as Justin Welby is confirmed as the next Archbishop of Canterbury.

Justin Welby, 56, has been chosen as the next Archbishop of Canterbury, and head of the worldwide Anglican communion.

Welby, presently the the Archbishop of Durham, said he was optimistic about the future of the church.

“The Church will certainly get things wrong, I certainly will get things wrong. We will also get much right and do so already,” he said.

But as Laurence Lee reports, people have conflicting views about him.
