China prepares for leadership transition

Ahead of Communist Party’s once-in-a-decade national congress, Al Jazeera visits a Chinese farmer.

Security is tight in Beijing as China prepares for the Communist Party’s national congress. The once-in-a-decade event will introduce a new generation of the country’s leaders.

Before the last congress five years ago, Al Jazeera travelled to Anhui province to talk to farmer Jin Kaicheng about what he expected from China’s biggest political event.

This year we returned to assess how things have changed for Jin and his family and what he wants from the new leadership.

Al Jazeera’s Harry Fawcett reports from Anhui province.
