Egyptian canals turn into waste dumps

Residents blame state for lack of rubbish collection services that is leading to public health crisis.

Due to a lack of sewage systems and rubbish collection services, water canals in some Egyptian neighbourhoods have become toxic waste dumps. 

Residents of Abu Sir, a district outside Cairo, blame the government for not helping to solve the problem, which is leading to a public health crisis.
