Food fears as China’s youths abandon villages

As flight to cities continues, farmers increasingly struggle to provide food for 1.3 billion population.

As more young people head out to live in cities, China’s 700 million farmers are increasingly struggling to provide food for the 1.3 billion residents of the world’s most populous nation.

Hoping to encourage the remaining ageing workforce, the government plans to invest more money in agriculture and implement more modern methods.
