Latino vote key to battle for US swing states

Latinos set to play crucial role in presidential election in North Carolina, Virginia, Arizona and Colorado.

The growing numbers of Latino voters living in critical swing states could have a powerful impact on this year’s US presidential race.

The fastest growing ethnic group in the country looks set to play a particularly significant role in four key states: Nevada, Colorado, Virginia and North Carolina.

However, as often anti-immigrant Republican rhetoric continues, and amid the Obama administration’s record deportation numbers, getting Latino voters to move beyond their disillusionment will be a major challenge for both parties.
