Pardon sought for former Peru president

Family of Alberto Fujimori, now serving 25 years, seeks reprieve as ex-leader’s health deteriorates.

The family of former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori has asked for a pardon for him on humanitarian grounds, due to his failing health.

Fujimori is serving a 25-year sentence for kidnapping, corruption and crimes against humanity.
