Uganda children mining sand to pay for school
While primary education is free, many children work to remove sand from bed of the River Nile to pay for extras.

Children in Uganda are mining sand from the bed of the River Nile to earn enough money for school books.
They do get free primary education, but overwhelming poverty means they can not always afford the extras.
