Record sales usher in ‘age of the tablet’

Millions of people around the world own tablets and e-reader devices, with that number looking set to grow. 

While desktop computers, books and magazines still have their place, many consumers are embracing the slick sophistication and ease of use that comes with owning the latest gadgets.

Vendors say the new age devices are selling quickly, particularly in the US.
