Inspirational teenager who overcame odds to achieve success invited to US president’s address to Congress.

A homeless teenager’s remarkable achievements in a high school in New York have earned her a seat at US President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address.
Samantha Garvey, who has a 3.9 grade point average, gained recognition for her work studying the effects of predators on mussels after she became a semi-finalist in the Intel Science Talent Search.
Olga, her mother, has not been able to work since she and her husband were in a car accident almost a year ago.
