After 60 years of military rule, the government of Myanmar has started to release some political prisoners and engage in talks with pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

While some in the country are doubtful of the government’s intentions, officials say recent changes in the country are part of a planned, gradual transition of power.
