Iran plans its own web network

Domestic network will not be connected to internet, raising fears about more government control over web.

Iran is planning to launch a national computer network days after Google and its email service were blocked.

But critics say it won’t be connected to the internet, giving the government even more control over the flow of information.

That’s raised fears this could be the first step to taking Iran off the world wide web.

Al Jazeera’s Tarek Bazley reports.
