Brazil eyes limits to emigrant land holdings

Farmers from abroad say proposed law stalls productivity at a time when the economy is slow.

With relatively cheap land prices, Brazil is proving an attractive draw for farmers from abroad.
But foreign buyers are starting to face resistance from the government, with the legislature proposing restrictions on their land ownership.

Farmers say, so long as food is being produced and jobs are created, Brazil should let foreigners invest to their maximum efficiency.
