Iran and Tajikistan have agreed to speed up construction of a rail line through Afghanistan to improve regional energy and water supplies.
The Tajik president’s office announced the deal after talks between the three countries in the capital Dushanbe.
The announcement, made during the Persian new year holiday Nowruz, which is celebrated by all three nations, is an attempt to create a new Silk Road through the three nations.
