Surge of violence closes Pakistani schools
Activists are trying to provide schooling for the estimated 30,000 students too scared to attend classes.

More than 50 schools in Pakistan’s commercial capital, Karachi, have shut down due to widespread violence.
According to reports, some 30,000 students in Karachi no longer attend classes over fears they may be harmed in the ongoing sectarian turf wars playing out in the city.
One organisation, however, is working to change the situation and keep students in their seats.
Imtiaz Tyab reports from Karachi.
