Egyptians celebrate Erdogan’s arrival

Turkish PM arrives in Cairo to much fanfare, as he embarks on a tour of states swept by the “Arab Spring”.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s prime minister, has arrived in Cairo on the first stop of his regional tour of states swept by the “Arab Spring”.

Joined by Ahmet Davutoglu, his foreign minister, Erdogan will try to boost his country’s ties and co-operation with Egypt’s new military leaders.

If the welcome he received in Cairo is any indication as to what those relations will be like, Erdogan has little to worry about.
