Gaddafi cuts access to electricity
Opposition strongholds in the country’s east deprived of power needed to drill for oil and water.

Libya is blessed with vast reservoirs of oil and water. However both need electricity to get them out of the ground.
Muammar Gadaffi, Libya’s longtime leader, has tried to deny access to these resources, by cutting electricity from opposition strongholds in the east of Libya.
